In 1996, McKinney voters approved the creation of the McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC).
The MCDC is a Type B sales tax corporation with the goal of supporting community and economic development projects and initiatives to make McKinney an even better place for its residents to live and enjoy life.
Since its creation, MCDC has invested revenues generated from a half-cent sales tax in projects that enhance McKinney’s aesthetic, cultural and leisure amenities and support business development.
Each year, MCDC allocates a percentage of the annual budget for promotional activities and community events that promote the City of McKinney for the purpose of developing new or expanded business opportunities, and/or tourism.
Applications for Promotional and Community Event Grants will be accepted through Friday, June 29.
