Over 175 area business people and civic leaders attended the McKinney Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting and quarterly luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 28 at Eldorado Country Club. The event was sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – McKinney, with the invocation given by Pastor Joel Scrivner of Covenant Church.
Chamber President Lisa Hermes highlighted 2015. “It truly is the Best Time to be doing business in McKinney and the Best Time to be a part of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce,” Hermes stated. “2015 was an amazing year and we are proud of the accomplishments made possible by our over 1,200 member businesses.”
Hermes went on to recognize those who have gone above and beyond during 2015 – the Ambassador Team of the Year and the Ambassador of the Year, Barbra Dutton.
Hermes also introduced 2016 Chamber Board Chair – Scott Peek with Baylor Scott & White.
“I strongly believe in the mission of the Chamber,” Peek said. “I was honored to be asked to serve as Chairman of the Board as we celebrate 102 years of service to the business community of McKinney and surrounding area.” Peek recognized outgoing Chair Michael Puhl for his commitment and service to the Chamber during 2015.

Many of you in the room today helped by participating in surveys, key community stakeholder interviews and industry research.
