McKINNEY (Jan. 20, 2016) — Do you know who the first settler in McKinney was? What industry was the largest in McKinney’s early days? Who is the largest employer in McKinney today? What does a business incubator do?

These are the types of questions Feud teams will compete over in the First Annual Corporate Family Feud Luncheon at The McKinney Cotton Mill Event Center on Wednesday, March 30. In late January, The WERX Foundation will survey McKinney citizens with a free form survey of questions about McKinney’s history, business past, business today and more! The answers to this survey will make up the answers that Feud teams will try to guess to win the top spot in the 2016 McKinney Corporate Family Feud.

Johnny Quinn, local celebrity and Olympian, will be Master of Ceremonies, providing local humor and motivation for the teams and the audience. Audience members will get the opportunity to participate, also, providing X’s to the teams to trip up their competitors.

Game Day Foods of McKinney will prepare a buffet luncheon and local McKinney experience packages will be featured as raffle items.

“We were looking for a fun event to get people together to learn more about The WERX and McKinney as a start-up business environment and The Corporate Family Feud seemed like just the ticket.” Said Christine Smith, The WERX Foundation Executive Director. “Just as McKinney is known for its rolling hills, stands of trees, large historic district and vibrant downtown square, it’s also known as a fertile space for new business opportunity. We need to get the word out to everyone about the opportunities that are available.”

Sponsorships are still available for the luncheon. For information about a sponsorship or to sponsor a team, contact Cindy Johnson at Early bird tickets for the luncheon are on sale through February for $20 each. Luncheon tickets increase to $30 in March. A table for eight is $250. Tickets may be purchased through The WERX website at Raffle tickets for local experience packages are $10 or 3/$20 and “X’s” to support teams will sell for $5.
