McKINNEY, Texas (Nov. 2, 2016) – The McKinney Public Library System now offers Comics Plus: Library Edition, a resource for digital graphic novels and comics, as well as the digital video game resource OnePlay for Libraries.

Through the library website, patrons can access thousands of novels and comics through their electronic devices at any time with no waiting periods or holds.

“The library sees Comics Plus: Library Edition as a great extension of our digital, on demand services. Comic books and graphic novels are very popular with our library users, but they are often not put together in a way that can stand up to the rigors of public use. The books available from Comics Plus do not pose that problem and with their list of popular titles, we foresee this being another popular service we offer,” said Spencer Smith, Director of the McKinney Public Library System.

OnePlay for Libraries offers a digital gaming service that enables patrons to download more than 1,200 games from more than 75 publishers and play unlimited Android and PC games for free. New games are added daily and can be downloaded and played offline on PCs, Android tablets and smartphones.

“Library staff is often asked about checking out video games. Unfortunately, in the past the answer has always been “No,” but with OnePlay for Libraries we are pleased that we can now answer “Yes!” The variety and quality of games provided means that there is game for everyone to enjoy, no payment required—only a library card,” said Smith.
