Home for the Holidays...A McKinney Christmas is a new twist on a McKinney tradition. Historic Downtown McKinney is welcoming the holiday season with this annual favorite even t that features live entertainment, activities for all ages, lots of food and a chance to find that perfect gift, all in one place. Expect a fun, family-friendly event offering traditional live Christmas music, food and festivities, traditional costumes, dancing, children’s activities and much more.
Home for the Holidays is celebrated the weekend after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30 in the 14-block area of downtown. On Friday, don’t miss the ceremonial lighting of the City of McKinney’s Christmas Tree at 6:15 p.m. The festivities continue Nov. 30 bright and early with the annual Believe! run through downtown and continue with non-stop activities like visits with Santa, carriage rides, a snow tubing hill, a petting zoo and ornament painting.
The focus remains on family and friends, while showcasing one of the most amazing historic downtowns in the nation. Enjoy more than 100 unique shops, including art galleries and home decor, antique collections, gift shops, health and beauty destinations and second-to-none apparel boutiques for the best and most unique gifts. More than a dozen restaurants will roll out the red carpet and offer holiday cheer during the festival and throughout the season. Patrons are encouraged to spend the weekend indulging in the atmosphere and taking advantage of our wonderful shops, restaurants and live entertainment.
