“Our Town,” often called one of the greatest plays in American theatre history, will kickoff the 2014-2015 Collin Theatre Center season, running from Oct. 9 through Oct. 18 in the John Anthony Theatre at the Collin College Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy. in Plano.

Winner of the 1938 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Thorton Wilder’s “Our Town” revolves around the inhabitants of Grovers Corners, discussing the human condition of two unexceptional families living unremarkable lives in small town America. Life, love and death are explored in this classic American play.

Set designer Craig Erickson brings audiences on stage, opening up the acting space to isles and other areas normally reserved for those watching the play.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students, staff and senior citizens. Performances will run as follows:

  • 8 p.m. on Oct. 9-11 and Oct. 15-19
  • 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 12 and Oct. 18

Director Gail Cronauer will host a question and answer discussion, with one or more members of the cast, 30 minutes prior to the show on Saturday, Oct. 11.
