A Few Wrinkles, But Worth The Trip

There's been a lot of buzz about the only truly all-inclusive resort in the U.S., Bungalows Key Largo, which opened a few months ago to great fanfare. Here is feedback from one of our clients, about their stay there last week:

"The experience there was absolutely amazing....one of the best trips we've ever taken. The resort is beautiful and luxurious with outstanding views looking west over the clear blue/green water, making for great sunsets. The people were extremely friendly and constantly looking to accommodate any need. Top shelf liquors and plenty of delicious cocktails were available at any time, as well as a variety of good beers in coolers around the pools. The food was very good (not great) in all restaurants. The exception was the high-end restaurant that was exceptional.

They've only been open since December, and they are clearly working out some kinks in still somewhat of a "soft" opening. Probably evident by the fact that they lost our reservation when we were trying to check in! The coordination of a couple of the meals was a little bumpy, in that one started 1/2 hour past when it was supposed to, and the Mexican lunch place on the beach had a long wait for food. Some of their staff are pretty inexperienced, but it's obvious they are working hard with them on training. Again, I think these kinks will be worked out as they mature.

Overall, the trip was amazing, and I'd highly recommend Bungalows Key Largo to those looking for relaxing all-inclusive in the Keys, as long as they don't mind paying more for it and (in the short-term) are ok with slightly inconsistent food prep and individual service (due to inexperience, not apathy)."
