McKINNEY (Feb. 16, 2015) – On Saturday, Feb. 21, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Orisons Art & Framing, located at 110 E. Louisiana St. in Historic Downtown McKinney, is having an open house to celebrate the launch of their new affordable reproduction art line, Orisons Decor, and their gallery redesign and expansion. The event will include small bites, beer & wine and music. This is a great chance to meet many of McKinney’s many talented local artists.
Orisons Art & Framing was started in 1997 and was sold to the current owners, Hamilton and Sandra Doak, in 2009. Since then the gallery has undergone several renovations. The gallery now expands over 7,000 square feet showcasing original art, limited editions and reproductions by local and national artists, commissioned art, expert custom framing, shadow boxes, photo restoration, photo to canvas and quality fine art giclee printing.
One customer says "I am a huge fan of your shop. Quite a few of our framed pieces were beautifully made in your studio, gifted to us by my husband’s parents. Whenever my husband and I are visiting McKinney, we always pop into your lovely store!" – Heather Mobley.
Orisons is a huge supporter of the local art scene in McKinney. They fund and support events and groups such as Arts in Bloom, the Unique by Nature Juried Art Show, the Arts and Music Guild and the McKinney Art Studio Tour (MAST). Orisons Art & Framing features over 40 local artists in every kind of medium and style. The gallery is constantly adding new artist and features two artist each month with a reception every second Saturday, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“As a life time professional fine artist, I have worked with major galleries all over the country including international art publishers but I have had some of my best experiences with Orisons Gallery right here in McKinney,” said Joe Sambataro. “They have allowed me to expand my portfolio without limiting me to one or two subjects, thus producing my best work to date.
“The management and ownership of this fine gallery is on the cutting edge of today's art scene which translates into great marketing of their artists works and down to earth pricing for the public. This is also accomplished with their involvement with community events which their artists, such as myself, are excited and proud to participate. I am looking forward to working with Orisons for a long time.”
“Our products are 100% made in the USA and are assembled in our state of the art manufacturing center two blocks from the Downtown McKinney Square,” said owner Hamilton Doak. “Every step of putting your order together, from printing, stretching, framing and shipping, is thoughtfully and carefully done by Orisons experienced team members.
“Orisons Decor also offers services to designers to meet specific needs whether it be size, color, or an original commissioned piece of art. You can work with one of our graphic designers and actually be a part of designing your own custom line. The quality and service we offer really sets us apart from other imported products.”
