Artists were out in full force showcasing their talents in downtown McKinney on April 14.

Arts in Bloom, a daylong event, was hosted by McKinney Main Street to spotlight the burgeoning art community and attract visitors to the quaint charm of McKinney’s Historic Downtown Square.

Visitors and residents alike enjoyed the opportunity to experience McKinney’s square, which was hopping with art, music and food. More than 150 local and regional artists featured their selections along the streets and storefronts throughout the square.

Despite the wind and clouds, Arts in Bloom was an unforgettable family friendly experience alive with energy. Shoppers absorbed the local culture, enjoyed dining experiences and even added a piece or two to their personal art collection while strolling around the square.

McKinney Magazine, the Chalk Walk sponsor, was proud to be a part of this exciting day.

Little Picassos barely old enough to read eagerly expressed their creativity on the sidewalks surrounding the McKinney Performing Arts Center, adding their works of art next to the chalk drawings of professional arts.

Artists Myla Galvan and Sandra Byrne of MAB Murals featured four covers of McKinney Magazine in their amazing paint-like style of chalking. Their artwork graced the four corners of sidewalk surrounding the McKinney Performing Arts Center.
